The Biting Ritual is a ceremony created and held by Marceline in the episode "Heat Signature." She led them to believe that its effects would turn Finn and Jake into vampires. Before the ritual began, Marceline told Finn and Jake to close their eyes, saying that if they opened them before she said to, their heads would explode. Marceline pinched Finn's and Jake's necks, saying "bite" as she pretended to bite them. She then put ketchup on her fingers, and left small drops of it on their necks to resemble blood. This fake ceremony lead to the made-up trials of Vampire Orientation. Marceline intended the ordeal to be an innocent prank on Finn and Jake.
