Lake Butterscotch is a location first featured in "Root Beer Guy." The lake is located within the outskirts of the Candy Kingdom near the Cotton Candy Forest.

Lake Butterscotch originates from an invention made by Princess Bubblegum in the episode "Bonnibel Bubblegum". The purpose of the lake was to impede Gumbald's plans to build a city.
As the name suggests, the lake appears to be filled completely with butterscotch. There is mention of abandoned caverns near the area. On the shore is a bait shop with a payphone, and nearby is a dock with boats that one can take out on the lake, but not after 8 p.m. It is also the location of Gumbald's Cabin, where Princess Bubblegum resided when King of Ooo reigned over the Candy Kingdom.
The lake seems to be fairly remote as Buck Pudding tells Root Beer Guy it is "miles from where anyone could hear a person scream." For this reason, Finn, Jake, and Princess Bubblegum choose the location for their staged crime scene in the episode "Root Beer Guy".
