Let's start some awards for editors of this Wiki. Anyone with me? -Ruin Cireela
- I definitely agree. Awards for editcount, article cleanup, file uploads, etc. If we do agree on doing this, though, we'll need to come up with a way to regulate it. --Moocowisi 01:36, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Sounds cool! :D I agree. Waddle D33 03:24, June 20, 2010 (UTC)
I kinda like that idea! Alot of wikis like Twilight and Glee have awards and they have tons of editors! --AurorSig
Alright, this is a pretty old forum thing, but I forgot to raise awareness of it until now. It seems like the general consensus is to have awards, so unless there are any objections, we're going for it. If anybody has any ideas about how to go about this, put them here. --Moocowisi 16:51, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
No objections from me. This sounds like a great idea! Love, Ponyo Fan 17:22, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
Count me in! Thomas 23:17, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Okay, I've come up with a few off the top of my head here. If anybody has any ideas for more awards or how to improve the ones I've already made, please put them here. --Moocowisi 23:45, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Ooh~ this is a great idea! Maybe we could also have a new editor award? Or give an award to the first user that joined, besides you of course. LOL. --User:Tandra88
- If anyone wants more ideas, some could include:
- Editing on talkpages
- Editing on blog posts
- Adding pages to categories
- Contributing every day for a week
- Oldest (and still active) contributor
- Making new pages
- Making new categories
Anyway, the current awards look great! :D Waddle D33 16:10, July 30, 2010 (UTC)
I have an idea for an award:
- Least Edits
- Some of these (like contributing every day for a week) will need patrolling and "least edits" really isn't rewarding anything, but I do like having awards for making and categorizing pages. I'll whip some more up. --Moocowisi 01:21, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
- Alrighty, here's a more updated list. If anybody has more ideas for new awards or ideas on how to make them look nicer, don;t be afraid to post 'em. --Moocowisi 01:42, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
- Moocowisi, LSP says "Oh my glob." not "Oh my God." Love, Ponyo Fan 04:06, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
- Why do we need the wikia staff to help set them up? I have a bunch of ideas on my sandbox already. I was going to set up the project page as soon as we agreed we had enough. --Moocowisi 01:55, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not really interested in the concept of awards in general, but I have to agree with Moocowisi here. The community has been discussing and working together on the idea on this forum page. Meanwhile, Ruin, you seem to have just ignored this and done your own thing. Also Ruin, you've been creating all these templates like Template:Ombox, Template:X1, Template:X2, Template:X3 and so on. Are these just experiments? You shouldn't create new templates if you don't know how they work. --Cornprone 03:05, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Hi everyone, this is Kacieh from Wikia staff. Ruin Cireela asked for some help with automated awards, and we have asked him in turn to discuss awards with the wiki community here in this forum. We won't get involved unless the whole community here decides that you want automated awards. :) If you'd like to look at some examples, check out Twilight Saga Wiki's customized awards and Ed Edd n Eddy's achievement awards . -- Kacie (talk) 19:14, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I didn't know Wikia could add an automated awards system. From a technical perspective, that's neat, but I'm not sure I like the result. If you look at the guy on top of the EEnE leaderboard for instance, and look at his edit history, what he does is just spam ten edits in quick succession onto pages. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but I don't want to encourage that kind of unnecessary edit spamming. I wouldn't mind awards for making 10 edits, or contributing for 5 days, or for adding something to your user page -- because those things initially encourage people to get involved. But please let's not start awarding 500 or 50,000 edits. --Cornprone 23:32, August 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Automated awards are really neat and I like how they don't need much patrolling, but I have to agree with Cornprone here. Rather than having a bunch of awards rewarding the same thing multiple times, we should have realistic awards that everybody should be able to obtain. This seems like the way to go, but only if we can limit the awards. --Moocowisi 01:15, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, what's this Achievement Awards page? Does this have anything to do with the automated system? If it doesn't, then I don't see why we need two separate award systems. --Moocowisi 01:21, August 3, 2010 (UTC)
- If you look on the EEnE Wiki here, there are original awards and the automated awards are new.

- I don't really care whether awards are automated or manual, but I do want to reiterate that I don't want awards for large numbers of edits. Unless you can convince me that won't cause a ton of edit spam. --Cornprone 08:53, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- If we don't get automated awards then me Moocowski and Kacieh can be awards monitor. --Ruin Cireela [Tweet Tweet Me] 11:31, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I guess that's why you just created these pages: Adventure Time with Finn and Jake Wiki:Award Monitors, Template:Monitor/Award. Isn't that premature? --Cornprone 13:02, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, that is pretty premature. We won't need these if automated awards win and if normal awards win then we would have to agree on a method as a community. And don't forget to get voting guys! I don't want to have to be the deciding vote. --Moocowisi 18:08, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- What if there is a tie?
- I didn't vote so that if there was a tie, I could be the tiebreaker. Hopefully at least a couple more people vote. --Moocowisi 22:03, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, people vote when they see the poll at the top of the page. --Ruin Cireela [Tweet Tweet Me] 00:45, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
- I would honestly go with the automated ones. They're a lot easier to manage than regular ones, even if they do look atrocious in monobook :/ And a poll is better for informal things like the ones on the front page or my userpage. It's hard to keep track of who voted for what and we would have to trust that they only voted once. --Moocowisi 01:06, August 7, 2010 (UTC)
- I think we should put the poll at the bottom at the top of the page! --Ruin Cireela [Tweet Tweet Me] 11:49, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

If we put it on the top of the page, that would discourage people from reading the discussion. And we wouldn't want people to vote without being informed, which is why I am asking you to stop leaving those messages on people's talk pages. --Moocowisi 18:54, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Alright, it's a tie. So after putting my tiebraker vote, auto awards win. I just sent a message to Wikiia, so they'll set it up whenever. --Moocowisi 20:34, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
