I think we should change the Featureds to a weekly vote instead of a monthly. There's just so many users on here that I am shocked it's monthly.

I have a few idea on what you guys should do for the Featureds: Article, Image, Video, Quote and even User if you guys are confident about that.

A way to advertise this, by the way is possibly starting social media for the Wiki, like a Facebook page, Youtube account and twitter. Could help attract more people on a Wiki with a lot of people.

We are definitely not making it weekly, there would be no time for votes. Though I have been toying with the idea of a featured video/song to go along side the article and image. I do like the idea of a quote too though. felinoel 01:50, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

I am on another high traffic Wiki (totaldrama.wikia.com) and up until recently, when the show has slowed down with episodes, the Featureds were really popular amongst everyone and was updated real often. idk I think four different featured things a month is plenty imo, and I've seen how slow our featured votings have been as I started running them. Besides, unlike TD we are still going here, the new season just started today. felinoel 01:57, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

I think if we start social media, it can improve on the slowness of the Featureds. We can also try a tabber on the front page for all the Featureds if it's too out of hand having them all spread out. Well, Webkinz, you also have to consider that the age group that comes to this wiki is... different... than the Total Drama wiki, due to the age range that AT is actually targeted for. I'd say we should wait until the voting actually picks up speed first, then MAYBE make it bi-weekly before we switch to a weekly format. --Legendary Dark Knight 02:19, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Featured Media (aka images) has been super dead, though I was going to turn it into images and videos since it is called media to try to bring some life to it... felinoel 02:21, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

What do you guys think, should we add songs/videos to the FA department, maybe even quotes too? Or maybe should we just include songs and videos in the Featured Media since it is called that and since songs and videos are also forms of media, not just images? felinoel 16:37, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

Template:Featured star

Hi, Felinoel. Are you happy with the way the Template:Featured star fits on pages? I don't like that it adds an extra blank line to the top of articles. With some tinkering with style sheets, I think I might be able to move it up to the title area of the page. Should I try that? --Cornprone 23:09, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

No I am certainly not happy with it, I've been tinkering myself with the infoboxes to put it inside those at least but if you can get it to work without resorting to having to use new infoboxes that would be greatly appreciated.

Also while we are on the subject, the star is just a temporary image. We can always change it to a sword or a Finn Hat or something... thoughts? felinoel 12:44, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

Actually... I like the Finn Hat idea... do we have a copy of the site icon (the .ico file) uploaded anywhere to this wiki? If not can whoever has it please upload it over File:Featured.png? felinoel 16:27, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

I have a couple of ideas for this. One is to push the icon upwards into the title area of the page. However, it would have to be handled differently for the two different skins, and I'm not sure where it would fit on the default "New Wikia" skin. Another idea would be to have it overlap the top right part of the title bar in the infobox. That is, assuming that all featured articles have infoboxes, which I guess they do. However, I'd like to do it in a way that does not require altering existing infoboxes. I'll try working on something. --Cornprone 08:41, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

Oh, you're putting the same template on file pages too? Hmm, maybe it would be better if file pages used a different template. Or no template at all; perhaps a category alone would work. Well that is why we are discussing it on the public forums but kay then? Should the options be: Keep the Featured Media as images only, Allow Featured Media to include videos, and Split Featured Media into Featured Image and Featured Video then? felinoel 17:56, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

idk how about to denote nationality? Or even one for royalty maybe? Then one for non-AT stuff but stuff irl.
