I just had an idea about one of AT's more interesting but briefly seen creatures. I thought about it for a while, and as anyone can recall, At has a way of having hidden things for others to explain and find out. One interesting thought was on the Lub Glubs.

When I first heard the name, to me it sounded alot like "Love Globs". At first this makes no sense, but later on I had an idea. When Jake sees the Lub Glubs, he makes remarks that they look like his parents. I thought this was a joke(it could be), but then the idea of the Glubs having a special ability came to mind. In my theory, the Lub Glubs have the ability to appear to a person as someone they loved, and quite possibly, lost. This could fit well with Jake's love for his parents, which are dead.

What do you guys think about this theory?

I don't think that Susan Strong and the Hyoomen would fear the Lub Glubs so much if they were actually the good guys. In other words, I'm not "feeling the love" when it comes to those 'ol Lub Glubs (LOL). One of them was gnawing on what appeared to be Fionna's skull. There were other skeletons all around the area where they were hanging out, too. I think that the Lub Glubs are intended to be despicable beings that hide behind disguises of being loving, caring, friendly, providers of safety/security/knowledge, etc. In reality, their intentions are otherwise. They are manipulative monsters who prey upon the public and hide underneath harmless looking pool float masks. Many individuals and groups in our world today could be considered to be Lub Glubs. I think that your theory works beautifully in the area where those who are close to us that we love/trust (i.e. family members, friends, co-workers, etc.) wind up being our biggest betrayers. A good example would be the way Hunson Abadeer treats his daughter, Marceline. You can see how he tries to manipulate and betray her over and over again. Hunson acts like an overgrown spoiled brat that refuses to stop misbehaving. He is capable of carrying out his evil behavior with a lot of charm and charisma, too. This is a similar type of deception when you conpare him to the Lub Glubs. Hunson, like the Lub Glubs, also has a less frightening vampire-style head that masks his scarier demon-style head. I think that when Jake states that Susan's sketch of a Lub Glub reminds him of his parents, I believe it is because Jake and his parents are dogs. Many of the floaties looked like animals. Like the Lub Glubs, small scale canines and felines can have a cute and friendly exterior on a regular, day-to-day basis. When they or those they care about are challenged or threatened, however, they can become incredibly vicious themselves. It isn't deceptive behavior, though...it's protective behavior.71.53.175.73 05:02, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

I thought the Lub Glubs resembled ink blots. They all looked like big splotches of ink, which makes it easy for me to imagine a doctor holding an ink blot in front of Jake right before he says, "That looks like... my mother." They probably included this shtick involving Jake as a joke.75.87.236.108 20:10, July 31, 2012 (UTC)
