What is a song?Edit

So it was decided that all the mini-tunes will be deleted, but where do we draw the line, things like Key Song, 8 Glasses Song, and Bro Song will be deleted sure, but what else? Merge them don't delete themEdit

Using this as inspiration (see here). I can see the option of putting short little songs or song-like text on a page list. I would say shot is about 17 to 30 seconds, and this depends on how many words were placed into those 30 seconds. For example, the Pokemon BW theme is about 45, but for that, a page would be needed. Especially if more can be said about it, trivia wise. Like the "Fry song", short but there is an extended version and then a cover version by Ice King.

Since it was kinda a tie, one had two votes for and one had three votes for but one against, I let it stay up for almost a week instead of the usual four days, I was aiming for a week but didn't notice the vote on the third, thought it was on the second, oh well. ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 19:21, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Well, although it was voted to delete them, to me, "delete" means they shouldn't have their own pages, not that the information should be wiped from existence. I'm OK with them being merged into a "List of short songs" page like the Spongebob one linked to. --Cornprone 22:33, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

• Oppose — I don't think the short tunes deserve a page. However, I personally think we should keep the Key Song. But, however, for one, I think any song that does not have an official title or name shouldn't be placed on its own page. This would be a better approach than setting a time limit. Blast. I meant to put my vote in separate songs and put them into their own category, but apparently I never did. I agree time is not a great way to distinguish between what is and isn't a song, but if we separate based on length then the articles that are obviously silly chants like Bro Song get moved and there isn't baseless argumentation. I guess a better way to determine if it's a song or not would be its meter, which we would then need at least two lines of... I'm not aware of how many of the songs have been given official names, so that could be a better way to separate.Flame Prince Finn 23:14, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Very few have been given official names if I recall correctly, and I still am unsure how we are going to proceed from here... Keep the Key Song..? But... it is really no lengthier than Bro Song and is pretty random like Bro Song... ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 13:12, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Support — I would like all the songs to have their own page, but if that decision has already been made then I will support placing all the mini-songs onto one page. It is far better than deleting them. - Alchemical (talk) 06:11, October 20, 2012 (UTC)
