The Skeleton Butterfly makes its first appearance in the episode "Tree Trunks." Tree Trunks finds one and thinks it adorable and cute; she calls it her "Critter Friend," and follows it into the forest. The Skeleton Butterflies are found in the Evil Forest.

Personality

They seem to like music, as they carry keytars and other instruments such as drums. Although they generally appear evil because they look similar to skeletons, carry swords, and live in the Evil Forest, they do nothing threatening, and come off as harmless, appearing to like Tree Trunks. In response, Tree Trunks throws a tea party for them.
AppearanceEdit
They appear as tiny humanoid skeletons with skull-themed butterfly wings. They are seen with either weapons or musical instruments.

In Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?!!, the Skeleton Butterflies served as one of the games many enemies. They are armed with long ranged spears that they can throw at Finn and Jake every few seconds. The spears can be deflected using Jake's ear shield ability.

- The Skeleton Butterfly's body is one that is more humanoid rather than butterfly.
- On the DVD commentary for the first season, Polly Lou Livingston (Tree Trunks' voice actress) was fascinated by this character and said it was one of her favorites.
- They might be a spoof of "Starlings" from the 1991 film, "Silence of the Lambs."
