Renamed it to "The Lich". Pen andother cast members have stated his name has been changed. Four-Eyes 22:50, April 19, 2011 (UTC)

Sore Loser
Edit
- Yeah, to provide some actual evidence: when asked about the Lich King, Adam Muto responded, calling him The Lich: [1]. Also, Pen referred to him by that name in a Wondercon interview. [2] Later Mr. Muto basically confirmed the name change: [3] The reason for the change should be fairly obvious, I think. --Cornprone 00:56, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
GRAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Fine!! Whatever!! Change the frickin' name!! See if I care!! And whoever that guy was, he wasn't sharp!! He was stupid...(Grumbles...) Bankaibuddy15 01:08, April 20, 2011 (UTC)Bankaibuddy15

One more Reference
Edit
A reference to the Lich is of course, An NES classic, Final Fantasy (original)! The lich is the fiend in the earth cave after you beat the Vampire. The Lich is actually the easiest fiend. 1 or 2 hits from a fighter or Fir3 is effective. If you want more on this or REAL PROOF go to RPG classics (you could just search it in google) or just go through grueling stuff like i do! (reccomemded: Fighter;Knight Theif;Ninja RedMage;RedWizard BlackBelt;Master)
P.S.
when you get the mystic key go to the Fiends palace, or the first boss castle to get epic swords!
- Edit: Go through the grueling stuff i do: play the game to figure out your self

- The idea of a lich originally comes from folklore. Is there any reason to believe that this lich is inspired by the Final Fantasy one as opposed to, say, the D&D one? --Cornprone 21:42, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
Main Character
Edit
Why is The Lich be considered a main character? —Preceding unsigned comment added by A hero boy named Finn (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~
- He should not be, so I removed it. --Cornprone 00:05, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
Rename
Edit
Seeing as how the renaming of this page is limited to admins only, can one of you rename the page to "The Lich (character)" Seeing as how there is an episode named after him? Or do you think we should wait to see if the name of the episode changes? --Sparda494 23:19, March 13, 2012 (UTC)
- We could wait. You know, I actually don't see the need to rename it anyway. For example, on Wikipedia, if there are two or more pages with the same title, often the more commonly used one just keeps the name with no label in parentheses. Then is has a disambiguation notice (which would have to be there anyway) linking to the other uses. And I'm fine with that, even though we've handled it differently in the past. --Cornprone 01:03, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
- Now it needs to be renamed to The Lich (disanbigution). Blaze, The Flame Prince

- Why? It seems fine as is for the moment imo...

- I see that this change was already made ("The Lich" to "The Lich (character)"). Is this the way we're going to keep it or are we going to do it Cornprone's way? I'd like to know because there about 50 pages that link to "The Lich" (which is the disambiguation page) instead of "The Lich (character)" and I'm in the process of fixing the links that link to disambiguation pages. Title and capitalization
Edit
There are multiple places in the articles that refer to him as "the Lich" instead of "The Lich." Based on the belief that "The" is part of his actual title, I'd say that it has to be capitalized, since all the beginning of all titles has to be capitalized. So I suppose my question is: is "the" actually part of his title? SaberSworn 19:47, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
I doubt it. But I don't think that's relevant.--Afliador8 19:50, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah. It is part of his title, like the way it is used in the show. Sky Monster 19:53, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks. That's what I though. It needs to be capitalized then. SaberSworn 20:01, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
Doesn't the Lich count as a possible former human? 6/3/2012, 1:50 AM—Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.92.116.190 (talk • contribs)
- Please remember to sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~). Don't just manually sign it. Also, saying that The Lich is possibly a former human is speculative and not needed.

King Worm Episode
Edit
Is there really promo art of the Lich hugging PB? I could not find it, so I'm not sure whether that fact is true or not. August 10, 11:19 PM
- Since the episode is in Finn's dream, it is more believable. ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 16:49, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
New Ability
Edit
Can we add in the Lich's abilities to give nightmares as seen in the "The Lich" short preview?Superj1e2z6 (talk) 07:09, October 16, 2012 (UTC)
Letter case
Edit
Can we agree here and now that the word "the" in his name should not be capitalized (except at the beginning of a sentence)? See an example of the... non-capitalization of "the" in a person's title in the Wikipedia article for the Red Baron. —Root

- I don't think this is contested. I'm sure it's just something people do because they're not thinking it through when they write. If you see it, change it. Lailoken (Talk) 23:45, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

- Now that you mention it, though, should this article be titled "Lich" instead of "The Lich"? Technically "the" isn't part of his name, it's just used to distinguish uniqueness (like "the Ice King"). Lailoken (Talk) 00:11, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I think the name comes from a modelsheet; Ice King's modelsheet doesn't include "the." So I think no. —Root
(talk) | (• ◡•)| (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) 00:14, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I thought that at first, but the only modelsheets I could find for him (which are also in this article's gallery) call him "Lich King" and "Frozen Lich King." With Ice King, that was kind of my point; he is sometimes referred to as "the Ice King," but it's not in his official title. I thought maybe it's a similar situation with the Lich, except that someone decided to put "the" in the article title when it was created. Lailoken (Talk) 00:53, October 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, you're right about the modelsheet thing; I guess my memory just failed me. I think that since the Lich is always referred to as such in the show, I think the "the" is important to his name, more important than the "the" in Ice King's title which is only sometimes used, as you said (though I can think of one (but only one) instance where he was just called "Lich"). Also, they never refer to him like "that lich" or "some lich" which makes the "the" more important. I think we should keep the "the" in the title until there's a new modelsheet that excludes it, like in the case of Bear and Stag. —Root

Cleaning up the information his origin?
Edit
The section describing the Lich's possible origin seems to have been written and edited by various different people at different times. There's quite a bit of redundancy and speculation in it. Does anybody object to me cleaning this up a bit? Also the quote about "a ghost possessing a corpse" seems a bit off if memory serves me. The gist is correct but the wording should probably be checked and fixed if its off. Somebody seems to have put a note on the quote saying its unverified. So long as nobody objects I will try and verifty or correct this.Melting Sky (talk) 09:13, November 14, 2012 (UTC)
- If you see something wrong then fix it.
- As for a ghost possessing a corpse, the ghost was the Lich and the corpse was Billy. ƒelinoel ~ (Talk) 18:23, November 14, 2012 (UTC)
Speculation on page
Edit
In this page plus The Great Mushroom War page it says the mushroom bomb ended the war when there is no proof of that the possible repn they did not use more in finn the human is because the 1st one did not explode and they did not know simon froze it thus they may have thought it did not work. VaxzEastHitSnail (talk) 21:37, April 2, 2013 (UTC)
Possessed forms
Edit
I believe the possessed forms section should be renamed to "Alternate forms and disguises". The Possessed Jake was an alternate version. Well, somewhat, but you get the point. And the normal world possessed people were more of disguises which the Lich used to trick people. What do you think? TheMostBoringManInTheWorld (talk) 05:32, April 6, 2013 (UTC)
Royalty Status?
Edit
shouldn't the lich not be under the categories of "royalty" and "kings" due to him not actually ruling anything nor actually having any subjects to rule.Animaltamer7 (talk) 08:46, April 13, 2013 (UTC)Animaltamer7Animaltamer7 (talk) 08:46, April 13, 2013 (UTC)
So what's the lich actual status?
Edit
Isn't the Lich officially dealt with now? Shouldn't his status be changed to deceased?

- The Lich is undead. He can't die. Being defeated doesn't automatically make him dead. --
