The Tiny Manticore is a small monster that Magic Man kept prisoner in a bottle in Magic Man's house, calling it bottle jail. He was later freed by Finn and Jake. He insults them and claims he did not need their help, but as he flies away, he reveals that he was afraid to express gratitude and that his new prison is shame. His speech is as follows:

"I am the true coward. Hiding from sincere expressions like a vampire in the nude who hides from the light. Thank you, brave hero. I was freed from bottle jail, but my new prison is shame. My new prison is shame!"

In "You Forgot Your Floaties", the manticore has once again been imprisoned in the bottle. He returned of his own accord due to "hostage syndrome". After helping Finn and Jake win their freedom he flies them to Wizard City to get a cure for being bread and soup respectively, overcoming his psychological hang-ups. It is unknown whether he received therapy.

Appearance

His body is very small, able to fit into a glass bottle, and resembles the classic manticore: shape of a lion with a man-like face, bat wings, and a scorpion's tail. His fur is orange and his mane is a darker orange. He has long eyebrows and fur that grows along his upper lips like a mustache.

Personality

He appears to be extremely unhappy and quick-tempered, lashing out at Finn after he is set free. This is likely due to his prolonged exposure to the whims of Magic Man and his claustrophobic confinement. He appears to be much more considerate in "You Forgot Your Floaties", caring about Betty and aiding Finn in saving her. He seems to be extremely weak-willed, or perceives himself as weak, and therefore envies and admires Finn and Jake's heroism.
