Yes. Me writing a VIDEO GAME REVIEW. I'll do these every so often, and if there's a game you wan't me to review, then comment about it. I might review it!

I review based on 5 different things, and then give an overall score of the game. The categories are:

  • Music
  • Gameplay
  • Difficulty (yes, thats a thing)
  • Story
  • Length/Replayability

First off: HERE BE SPOILERS. (possibly.)

Story

I give the story of this game a 5 out of 10. It's very straight-forward, but not visited much. You travel around Ooo, eventually seeking revenge on the Ice King, and take back your garbage.

Gameplay

I give the gameplay a 7 out of 10. Personally, I thought the gameplay was fun. It's layed out in kind of the same way as Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, except much less difficult and no seizure-inducing death screens. But, I digress. The game throws in Wizard Stars (level-ups) in unexpected places, sort of making you want to look everywhere for treasure chests and other goodies. The action scenes are pretty fun, giving the game a Super Mario-esque feel. One thing I didn't like, however was your speed on the map screen. It can take forever to get from place to place sometimes. Jake also comes in handy, with his ear shield and umbrella abilities. He is also a very big part in getting around in the overworld.

Music

I give the music a 6 out of 10. It's really nothing special. My personal favorites are the Red Rock Pass action scenario theme and the Candy Kingdom overworld theme. I do like that the music really matches the mood of the area, however. I don't think the music was bad, but it wasn't outstanding. Again, nothing much to say.

Difficulty

I give it a 8 out of 10 for difficulty. It's not difficult, but that's GOOD. It's a good difficulty. Children and adults alike can enjoy this game with only gnashing their teeth or pulling their hair because they missed a jump or died when that boss was almost dead a few times.

Length/Replayability

I give this section a 3 out of 10. It's not a very lengthy game by any means, and it's not very replayable by any means. The game itself is very short. There are only 4 areas to explore, not many sidequests, and it's not hard to 100% it without even trying. For replayability, it's kind of the same thing. With the length, i'm sure you could replay it several times, but it'd just get boring. Really.

Overall Score

I give Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage a rating (out of 10) of:

                                                                                         6.5[]

I give the game this rating not only because it was an average (rounded somewhat) of the scores, but because it deserves it. It is a fun game, and I think you should consider picking it up sometime. It's not a waste of time, and the story isn't complete garbage. I may review the lesser Adventure Time game next, but who knows. So long, for now.
