FanonEdit

What if we combined the two wikis of AT Wiki & AT Fanon Wiki by making a AT Fanon Portal like on Avatar Wiki (Fanon Portal) to increase traffic to both sites. I've already talked to Niktendo7 on this. Brozoco 17:43, July 10, 2012 (UTC)

I'm not a fan of fan fictions as many can be taken way too far, and a lot of them just don't interest me, nor do I find it would help the wiki. Personally, I would prefer AT discussion over fan creations.

That is one aspect of the Avatar Wiki that prevents me from interacting with it. In my opinion, I feel having a fanon section separate from the wiki would be best. This reason being that we already have distractions that deter away from the wiki portion and adds focus to the social aspect of the wiki. A fanon, more along the lines, kind of sets it up into the fan's decisions and can result in information becoming skewed. It happens on the Avatar wiki sometimes. We do have a lot of activity though... I could assume we could probably affiliate with one another rather than merge the two wikis through a portal. True Sephiroth 17:57, July 10, 2012 (UTC)

InsertUsername templateEdit

I would like to include code for the aforementioned template in the MediaWiki:Common.js. I imagine it wouldn't have any negative effects, but I'd rather ask than just change what is arguably the most important page on the wiki. There's a very convenient explanation of it on this page to calm any concerns about possible goof ups.

I wanted to ask because I feel that I make pretty well-thought-out edits, and I feel I deal with vandalism as required (if that is a factor in your decision). Hi. Although your contribution history is good, I've kind of decided stop handing our rollback to anyone who asks, for now. Rollback basically offers a slight level of convenience, and that's all. I don't want people to start thinking of it as a badge of authority or some kind of reward. Maintenance Admin ComplaintEdit

To the Adventure Time Wiki Bureaucrats: Hi, this is True Sephiroth, and of course I should be known by now. I have been contributing throughout this year since February, and have been a WC long before reregistering for wikia back in February. I am writing this talk page message to you as a formal complaint towards a recently promoted maintenance administrator (MA): Blugo34. In this complaint, I will detail some of the negative behaviors that have been displayed by this MA over the course of the last few days and some of his actions throughout the last month going back to early August. Links provided within the message will direct you to talk pages, images on the wiki for comparison, or other comparisons that I complied for you.

The situation began when he asked me how to make an image transparent, and how to make the images he uploads as good as mine. Kind as I was, I share how to do it with anyone who asks. I then told him how to get modelsheets off the Frederator flikr account and how to get the images at their best size. He soon started showing descent contributions and I supported him being made a rollbacker for the wiki, since a lot of his contributions were to pages and reverting vandalism. I then took a leave of absence from the wiki for personal reasons. Over the course of the month, a friend of mine told me he was replacing practically every image I uploaded and only mine. I didn’t think much, because I’ll admit that a few of my earlier images I didn’t get around to updating to HQ. I brushed it off and thought that he was just replacing some of my older images, which did needed to be replaced.

September comes around and I was bombarded by a good portion of my page image uploads being replaced and/or deleted. The images themselves ranged from poorly edited to ridiculously oversized images. A few are simple reuploads of the same exact image. I went through all of the images and I made some reversions to some that didn't need what Blugo34 called "Updating" when all it was is a massively resized image. Naturally, I fixed what I could do for now, and reuploaded brand new images for some using my new editing method that Blugo34 also uses. I then proceeded and wrote a talk page for Blugo34 stating what I saw and what he should do in the future. I explained the importance of dimensions and file size, and went into how large file sizes are a nightmare for slower internet users. After expressing this with him, he then proceeded to reupload all of the images that I just reverted or uploaded with the his same images that he provided; though, he reuploaded his images mimicking the file dimensions of the last upload for absolutely no reason whatsoever. He not only did this to me, but to other users as well such as Sky Monster and Lailoken.
Note: The file Ugly Monster has further history that was deleted from a name change. Said image was also fine and reuploaded for no reason. Even videos are not safe from his edit boosting

The same day on the 12th of September, Blugo 34 started a private message with me on the chat. It began how he felt I was rude and escalated with him outright insulting me to the point he that he tarnished his reputation towards me forever. The details of the conversation can be found below:

He made zero attempt to explain himself other than to tell me that my images were "very grotesque and bad edited." He then exclaimed "I am making this wiki better not grotesque images and bad edited crap." He continued to insult the way I work with images and how images I previously uploaded were terrible and making the wiki worse. It was not befitting a Maintenance Admin nor does it support what this wiki is about. By doing this, he is causing more harm with his written verbal abuse and his very rude and obnoxious attitude.

I then noticed another trend from his uploads. I noted that Blugo is trying to keep his name as the soul contributor to an image based how he reuploads an image that was fine to begin with. I also believe he is attempting to boost his edits with so many reuploads for images that need no update. The shear amount of his "updates" to images that do not need to be replaced is evident on that. As for the claim he is trying to control who has contributed can be seen on the deletion log. At 8:58 am this morning, Blugo uploaded several backgrounds from Evicted! Two of the images, were already available at the highest quality available. He then proceeded to delete the duplicates to replace them with his own at 9am.

Other instances also include history on images being deleted that wasn't uploaded by him. Check, and the history on these files are gone from the file. For instance, the deletion logs.

As a MA, Blugo34 is doing part of his work, but at the same time his rude behavior and activities is not what this wiki currently needs as an Admin. We need someone who cleans up the community of old files, making the community easier to navigate, load and just cleaner looking. He may feel that he is doing that, but all he is doing is trying to make things all about him, or to boost how much he believes he is contributing by edit boosting.

Indeed he is active, but responsible and mature? His behavior shows me that he is not fit to be an MA, nor is he mature enough to act decently towards other users who contribute just as much, if not, more meaningful contributions. I am one of the three oldest (in age) members on this wiki and being talk to in such way is rather deplorable. He made me feel unwelcome at this community. He also made me feel that my contributions were not helpful in any way, shape, or form. He has displayed this sort of behavior before the MA position, in our own chat, and on other Wikis that has resulted in his blocking from those wikis.

I am asking that you consider what is best for the wiki and base your decision on what I have stated in this complaint. I thank you greatly in advance for looking over what I have to say and the evidence provided above.

So, Blugo. When did True Sephiroth say he wanted to get you demoted? It was a complaint. Also, his images are not even that bad at all. Making images huge will not make anything better. If anything, it makes things worse. Don't you remember that last chat we had on your talk page before you archived it? Yet you act like that never happened. Why have you been deleting file history lately? Also, are you sure True Sephiroth is lying about everything? Why did you try removing his message if he is? I know for a fact that a lot, if not all, of the stuff written is true. When you say that what was written is a lie, you must also be saying that you were never banned from any other wiki. I remember you saying that the only reason why you began to edit this wiki is because you were banned from the Glee Wiki. I noticed that you have the wrong idea of what "higher quality" means. That does not mean huge, it means that they are not pixelated and are clear. Finally, True Sephiroth is not saying that he is mad about his specific images being edited. OK, I've looked over edit histories, and I think I see what's going on. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like Blugo has replaced lots of image files. Some were replaced with much higher resolution versions. In other cases, there's no apparent reason why they were reuploaded. Although this doesn't technically harm the wiki, in most cases it doesn't really help either. (Note that very large images aren't that bad, because the thumbnails that appear on pages are separate, smaller files generated by the wiki. That said, I don't think we want the largest possible versions of all images uploaded to the wiki.) Blugo, you say that you replaced images because they were "truly bad edits," but it seems that other people, including myself, don't understand what was wrong with the old images. Could you link to examples of images that you replaced because they were bad? The thing is, people of course get upset if their contributions get deleted and replaced with no clear reason. Therefore, I think that should only happen if there is a noticeable problem with the existing file. If files need to be renamed, they should be renamed, not deleted and replaced. Blugo, pretty much no one complains about me unless you count yourself. I delete images only when they are duplicate files since the wiki should have as little spam as possible. By the way, about that Flame Princess image, I actually made that without knowing you did, and I did not make it immediately when you uploaded it. Also, the pictures are as "beautifully" edited as each other, but my picture was better since it had a better file name and the image was smaller. Blugo, I honestly don't see these imperfections you claim are on his image, or the imperfections you are saying are on many of the other images. I also believe you might be confused on what you were told, and even the meaning of a high quality image. Yes, there are some images that do need to be replaced (I already stated I'm fine with my older uploads being replaced), but not all of the images needed replacement. Sky's image was actually good, and so was yours for that upload, but Sky managed to remove all the stray marks that was the result of some of the background color blending with the production art itself. One of the obvious parts on your image can be seen on the top of her right foot (your left if you are viewing her). There are a few other spots too, but not as noticeable as the foot.

Other images though, I'm completely lost as to why you needed to reupload an image that was fine... then if it was reverted (like you did on Rock_Wizard.png and a few back on the 12th), you would take your image and adjust the file dimensions to match the image that was original and upload it again when the image, again, was completely fine and needed no further changes. There is no point in it. You need to explain what is wrong with those images other than saying they were "obtuse, grotesque, or badly edited," because those words not giving a giving a valid explanation of what was wrong other than words you are slinging at people when they ask you why you reuploaded over an image. When you also change the dimensions of some of your images the way you have, you are also causing some unintentional alterations to the image itself, either stretching it, or discoloring it and making it look worse than your original upload. You can't just enter a file dimension that you are copying and expect the image to look the same. It will look close, but it is nowhere similar. You are just too enamored by your own edited images to see that it is not adding anything to something that did not need to be fixed to begin with.

Additionally, an HQ image is not determined by the file type. Don't get me wrong, PNG is the best format and I use it for everything image related when I am working on images. But not everything uploaded needs to be png on the wiki. Png is mostly used for file compression without damaging or losing the data of the image. Though Jpeg (inferior to png) does cause data loss (image pixelation), it just depends on your file settings and one could prevent that. For the most part, all modelsheet and background image files from the Frederator Flikr account are already jpeg formats, meaning, they are at the highest quality that we are going to get. Changing them to png will change nothing other than compressing the file size down. In the end, the jpeg images don't all need to be replaced. We do have a few smaller ones that need to be reuploaded, and it wouldn't hurt reuploading them in png. However, a lot of those backgrounds were already at the max dimensions, or were decently large and did not need to be replaced.

You call other people's edits ugly but your own beautiful. Even before you were made an admin, I noticed this behavior in you and thought it was quite obvious, which is why I was surprised you were promoted in the first place. I had banned you from chat once, warned you about fluff editing 3+ times in chat/on your talk page, and was extremely close to blocking you form the wiki once. Ah, and I shouldn't forget to mention that you're currently blocked on at least 3 wikis. In my opinion, admins on this wiki should NOT demonstrate this kind of behavior. Being rude and, well, downright mean to other users is not okay and should be dealt with accordingly. If you were a regular user and had been acting like you currently are, I could probably guarantee you would be blocked by now. Being an admin does NOT change this.

Says the admin who left because everyone hated him, First of all, you banned me for a bad reason which is invalid. I saw that many reacted and they were disagreeing with the ban. Still, you did not comment because you were too scared because you don't want to happen with the events when Marcaline got banned. And I got promoted because they wanted me and Tavis chose me also. We lack Maintenance Admins at that time, me, I was so sursprised that people chose me to become one. So I did my best, and did my job as a Maintenance Admin, I am heartily sorry if I uploaded some images that hurted your feelings and made you very, very upset. But actually I learned many things and stuff. It just boosts my confidence on being an MA and all. So demoted or not, I will still keep doing my job. Still, it's great to be a maintenance admin, being able to edit fastly and doesn't need help. It kinda helped me alot and I really worked hard for being an MA. Cornprone, I disagree. Blugo is a nice admin and gives a lot of responsibility. Don't remove my best friend, please. He gave me courage, althoug he acts like a wild 5-year-old, there are many reasons why he should remain an MA. First, he helped users make their sigs, floaters, and advice in editing pages. Yeah, he might've removed some pics, but they were in a "bad" edit. Should it really matter for a good edit? Yes, if you ask me. And Cheeze, Blugo is an ADULT. Not a child. Sometimes, the worst people can turn good any moment. Blugo helps out A LOT. Ask me again to remove his post, I'll disagree. I mean, ever article needs a beautiful image, yes? Good person to upload images? No, far from that when there are plenty of other users who do the same. FioLiz, it wasn't the fact that he might be nice to some people, or he made good edits (his edits to pages are good). Whether he is a good person wasn't the question in this matter. What was the problem was how he would treat others, speak down to them and make completely incomprehensible responses when confronted with questions regarding uploads. Aside from that, was how he simply responded to the people in this discussion here. Many of the images he replaced were not bad, in fact, they were fine and even when they were fixed/reverted or deemed appropriate by other admins he would resize his own to the same exact dimensions and reupload them again for no apparent reason. I won't deny that some images needed replacement, but he was replacing a lot of images that did not need a false "update." Even in this discussion he was making bold accusations without any evidence to back it up. It is not mature for him to respond in the way he did. I suggest you go back and reread his responses. Just a note or two, @True, just because someone was promoted and you weren't does not mean that they were considered to be better than you, there is no reason to compare yourself to anyone. Blugo34's Chat DemotionEdit

Sir, I seriously disagree to this demotion. All for all, Paul has made GREAT edits and is a great Maintenance Admin. He also makes a great chat moderator, he's stern and discipline to most spammers and cussers. If you want to demote him as a Maintenance Admin, sure go ahead I don't care, but at least make him a Chat Moderator because he is a GREAT one. He is stern and discipline in chat to all users, but he doesn't creep us out by watching us silently. He also kicks and bans several users who aren't proper and spam and cuss. And he is an amazing chat moderator. So please reconsider this demotion and make him into a chat moderator. It would mean much to me.

Hello. I am sincerely sorry if I offended or displeased anyone or even made someone crazed or demented. I wasn't apprehensive at that time. But still I can innovate or change. If you still give me one more chance to prove myself I am worthy to become an MA. I can convey that VKO doesn't really edit that much and Bunai is inactive. Also, I do not have incorrect grammar in my talk page. Still, even though I am not MA anymore, I will still contribute to this wiki. But I would be very elated if I am an MA. I also started deleting unused files and renaming some images to their proper format with help of Bunai's blog. It was a great wisdom and experience to become an MA. I, Blugo34, am requesting of becoming MA again in Adventure Time Wiki. I will do my best to maintain and innovate AT wiki. Simply by helping other users with sigs, floaters and MPC's. Renaming images per Bunai's blog. Reverting vandalism. Reuploading images to a better file version. Fixing broken file links. Organizing details or trivia. Inspring other users. This could use a crat's opinion.
If you could put down whether or not you think all the alternate timelined people's different forms should be on their main self's article, that would be great. I made a possible compromise that we could merge everyone together but keep the alternate timeline Finn article and just link to it on the main Finn article since alternate timeline Finn was the main character. My only concern is that now all Farmworld characters would get their own page, like Choose Bruce and the alternate Simon or Marceline. I want to talk to you about a few things. Sparda is heading the chat again and we decided to give him another shot. I hope that's okay with you. Also, we've been getting quite a build-up of unused files. RoseSweets has offered to help out with that. As you might also know, FTHG recently started trouble at MLP wiki. We want to watch all three of them very closely for the time being. Nowadays, most our users are just little kids coming here to have fun at chat. It's been causing the wiki to be quite unorganized. Ins has been put in charge of fixing pages. He does not have any additional rights, however. Also, because there are so many kids, it's been harder to find competent users for admins. Many users have disappeared claiming that there has been an increase of...lets just say, not so smart people joining the wiki. Heartfeltprodigy is suspected of being a sock of ColdSurrender. Sparda wants to ask wikia for IP check rights and wants to get our permission. Also, watch out for Blaughum. He was blocked with multiple offenses: for cussing, intimidating behaviour, and sock puppet. I'm not sure if Sparda is going to keep him out of chat or not, so we got to stay alert. Also, SilverCrono has been inactive. Sparda is currently seeing if Crono wants to continue being crat. If not, that would make space for others to have opportunities to move up. I'm thinking Sparda would be a good candidate for crat, but it will be a while before that happens; we have to see how he performs, but he has been really helpful. Also, back to the FTHS topic. After the incident, she wanted to step down as admin. I'm still debating what to do. I was thinking that Ins could take his place. Ins is a very hard worker and good wikia contributor. However, he's been busy lately, so if that's the case, we'll have to see his performance over a span of time.
